About Low Carbon Consultants

The Register of Low Carbon Consultants has been developed by CIBSE and The Carbon Trust, and offers a competent and independent approach to low carbon design and operation of buildings. The register consists of individuals who have been tested and approved as competent and committed to meet and surpass part L building regulations.

Low Carbon Consultants on the Register have undertaken rigorous examination and use auditable procedures to establish compliance with Part L building regulations. Their work, monitored by CIBSE, is to a signed code of conduct to operate within the sphere of their professional training. In order to stay on the register, Low Carbon Consultants need to undertake continuous professional development

and to make annual Carbon Returns, demonstrating the scale and effectiveness of their work.
